European Association for Vision and Eye Research

Word from the Programme Secretary

Dear EVER friends and colleagues,

Firstly, let me introduce myself as your new EVER Programme Secretary and thank Marcela Votruba for all her hard work.  I hope we can all work together to continue organising successful congresses that have been established and expanded over the last few years, thanks to her and the EVER team.

It always helps to have a nice venue – Nice –  but as the conference is earlier (in September rather than October) this year, it will be even warmer than before. Of course, the interesting and varied programme will similarly attract attendance! As also the opportunity to network and meet collaborators in such convivial surroundings.

We would encourage particularly, participation from Young Ophthalmologists and non-ophthalmologists to ensure they submit abstracts for free papers and posters. International speakers are also warmly welcomed, and the SIS (special  interest symposia) and Course timetable will soon be available for you all to see.

The Congress will start at 11:30 am on Wednesday 27th September 2017 and will run until 3.00 pm on Saturday 30th September 2017. Again, we plan to run eight parallel sessions, including 13 courses and 43 SIS.

Keynote speakers include Carol Shields and Caroline Klaver, with the EVER Lecture delivered by the EVER Past- President, Prof. Aki Kawasaki and the EVER/ Acta Lecture by Prof. Leopold Schmetterer

Please submit all your abstracts for Free Papers and Posters between April 1 and June 1, 2017.

I look forward to meeting many of you at the welcome reception and during the course of the meeting. Please do join us at EVER 2017 in Nice and bring along your research groups, colleagues and collaborators.

Yours sincerely,

Francesca CORDEIRO
Programme Secretary
